This simple recipe for Dark Chocolate Banana muffins uses simple, real ingredients. It will become a family favourite for breakfast, dessert or a quick snack.

Ingredients
  • 6 TB melted butter or oil
  • ½ cup maple syrup or honey
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 cup mashed bananas
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1½ cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ cup dark chocolate chips
Instructions
  1. Mash banana, add oil or butter, salt, syrup or honey, vanilla and egg and beat well by hand.
  2. Stir in dry ingredients and chocolate chips.
  3. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes or until a tooth pick inserted into muffins comes out clean.
