New Goals! New You!

my goals list on blackboard After my one-month pop/soda-free success in February 2013, I made the decision to not only get a one year membership but also to hire a personal trainer at the gym to help get to my goals!  I have always been a goal-oriented person. I can attribute the success I’ve had in my education, life, career and business to a laser focus attitude when it comes to achieving goals!  I had never been able to apply this skill to this part of my life!  In fact when it came to my health and weight, I’ve always felt like a failure.  Getting a personal trainer was an admission to myself that I needed help and that I just couldn’t do it on my own.  Apart from kicking my bad habit and hiring the personal trainer, I researched a healthy diet of non- processed foods. A plan was beginning to form!

It’s my belief that your goals should be SMART!  Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and Time-Bound!  I also believe you should write them down and SHARE them with others.  On the day I decided to go on my new adventure, this is what I wrote in my journal.

  • I want to be healthy
  • I want the pain from my neck, back, hips, knees to be gone
  • I want to be stronger
  • I want to lose weight
  • I want to have energy
  • I want to be active
  • I want to like exercise
  • I want to climb mountains with my husband
  • I want to be able to run
  • I want to wear “cute” clothes
  • I want to be able to shop in all stores
  • I want to lose a total of 50 pounds
  • I want to look toned
  • I want to not be in the overweight/obese range for BMI
  • I want to be within a normal range for % of fat
  • I want to have a healthy waist measurement

What are your goals?  Take a few minutes to write down at least 5 lifestyle change goals in your journal.  If you would like to share even one of them, please write them in the comment box below.
